The history of the origin, formation and development of national science from the Middle Ages to the present day allows familiarity with the collection of the Museum of Kazakhstan history of science. The exposition of the museum preserves materials about the life and work of several generations of scholars. The collection of exhibits has more than 6000 books, documentary photographs, personal belongings of scientists and educators.
Creation of the Museum of Kazakhstan history of science was objectively necessary for analysis and synthesis of the history of science of the Republic of Kazakhstan. The structure of the museum includes the following sections: Origins of Kazakhstan science since ancient times; Birth of Kazakhstan science; Scholars of the Enlightenment of the XIX century; Development and establishment of Kazakhstan science in the Soviet period; Science of independent Kazakhstan.
The exhibition section of the Origins Kazakhstan science since ancient times reflects the life and works of thinkers of the Middle Ages such as Abu Nasyr al-Farabi, Mahmud Kashkari, Zhusup Balasaguni, Kadyrgali Zhalayri, Ahmet Yassaui, Muhammed Haydar Dulati and others.
A separate part of the museum is devoted to Russian researchers of the Central Asia and Kazakhstan of the XVIII-XIX centuries: P.Rychkov, A.Levshin, V.Velyaminov-Zernov, P.Semenov-Tyan-Shanski and others. Their works contained materials about the history and culture of the Kazakh people. Russian Geographic Society explored Kazakhstan geographically, natural history and ethnographic relations.
Halls of the museum disclosure the role of the first scholars in enlightenment time of Kazakhstan. Among them was Sh.Ualikhanov, who was one of the first Kazakh scientists. His works greatly enriched the world of Oriental historiography, great Kazakh educators as A.Kunanbaev, Altynsarin and others.
Section that dedicated to the development and formation of Kazakhstan science in the Soviet period shows the development of science from the 20s of the XX century. It is considered in detail the history of the Kazakh Academy of Sciences of the USSR, Kazakh Branch of the Academy of Sciences of the USSR, Academy of Sciences of the Kazakh SSR, and the activities of four offices.
The hall presents visual materials of the first founders of the Kazakh SSR, the layout of the building RSE "Gylym Ordasy."
A special stand is dedicated to the first president of the Academy of Sciences of the Kazakh SSR Kanysh Imantaevich Satpaev. Expositions of the museum present the main works of K.Satpaev. Among them are "Selected Works" in five tomes, published in 1967-1970, the book "Algebra" for Kazakh schools, which was published in 1924.
The section of Science of the Independent Kazakhstan tells about the work on the study of the history and activity of the scientific-research institutes, which were established under the Academy of Sciences of the Kazakh SSR and the National Academy of Sciences of Kazakhstan. It reflected the scientific activity of more than forty research institutes and leading universities of Kazakhstan.
The exhibition demonstrates scientific works and achievements of eminent scientists of the country, who have made significant contributions to the development of modern Kazakhstan science.
Nowadays, the work, undertaken by the Museum staff, makes a huge contribution to the study of the history of scientific thoughts of Kazakhstan. The activities of the museum aims to perpetuate the memory of the outstanding events and prominent representatives of Kazakhstan science.
